On Sunday, November 4, 2018 around 10:30 p.m., Deputies made contact with Hardee County Fire Rescue at the Ona food store attending to defendant, Ronnie Cobb, who stated he was hit in the head by an individual at Jordan’s Labor Camp.
Deputies responded to Jordan’s Labor Camp and spoke to witnesses regarding the incident. They stated Cobb was in a verbal dispute with a resident regarding a TV when he then attacked the victim, Jean Emilus, with a screwdriver.
Witnesses stated Cobb stabbed Emilus approximately three times in the back and once on the head with the screwdriver. Cobb then threatened Emilus’s life so in self defense, he grabbed a wooden stick and struck Cobb on the head.
Once Fire Rescue arrived on scene, the victim declined medical attention while Cobb was transported to Florida Hospital Wauchula for his injury. Once released from the hospital, Cobb was transported to the Hardee County Jail by Corporal Eversole and charged with aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon.
