Passing of retired major Paul “Eddie” Davis

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of retired Major Paul “Eddie” Davis. He will be dearly missed and we sincerely thank him for his selfless service to our community.

Retired Major Davis began his career in public service in 1991 as a correctional officer with the Florida Department of Corrections before transferring to the Wauchula Police Department in 1995 as a police officer.

On October 16, 1997, he continued his law enforcement career with the Hardee County Sheriff’s Office. While with the Sheriff’s Office, he served in many areas, including a deputy sheriff in the patrol division, an agriculture deputy, and a K-9 handler. He also served as a sergeant and lieutenant in the investigations division, a captain, and ultimately as the undersheriff at the rank of Major before retiring on January 3, 2021. He also graduated from the FBI National Academy Session #277 in September of 2019.

While he is no longer physically with us, his spirit is always around us. We extend our most heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends.
