Reported shooting on Lincoln Street

The Hardee County Sheriff’s Office has identified Darius Saldivar as being responsible for a reported shooting on Lincoln Street in Wauchula, FL.

On Sunday, October 28, 2018 around 3:30 p.m., Deputies responded to a reported shooting on Lincoln Street in Wauchula. Once on scene, they spoke to witnesses who stated they saw two unidentified males driving a red, older model SUV down Lincoln Street when they heard approximately five gunshots. The area was searched and five shell casings were located.

About an hour later, around 4:30 p.m., the victim, Lamont Lee, contacted the Hardee County Sheriff’s Office stating he had previously been on Lincoln Street. Lee said that he saw two male subjects exit a red, older model SUV. He stated that a male exited the passenger side of the SUV and walk toward his vehicle; while another male, who he identified as Darius Saldivar, exited the driver side of the vehicle. Once outside the SUV, Lee stated Saldivar walked into the street with his arm raised while holding a gun, when five shots made contact with his vehicle.

Deputies assessed Lee’s vehicle and found six bullet holes.

No injuries have been reported and the Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant for Darius Saldivar for committing the offenses of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, shooting into an occupied vehicle and a second degree attempted homicide.
