Cybertips submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children resulted in the arrest of 26 year old Ismael Hernandez of Wauchula, Florida.
Beginning on June 21, 2019, the social networking site, Facebook, reported several Cybertips to N.C.M.E.C. regarding messages sent between Hernandez and his victim through Facebook Messenger.
The messages were reported due to possibly containing child pornography and after further investigation, Hernandez was soliciting for pornographic images and videos to be sent by the victim, who told investigators they were pressured into sending them due to Hernandez stating if they didn’t he would “do something.”
Detectives also discovered Hernandez had physically assaulted the victim before the reported online messages were exchanged.
“I commend the work of our detectives and everyone involved who helped put this man in jail. Parents and guardians, please remember to always be aware of what your child is sending and posting online. We must do everything we can to protect our children from this type of malicious behavior.” – Sheriff Arnold Lanier
Ismael Hernandez was arrested and booked into the Hardee County Jail on July 11, 2019 by Detective David Drake. His charges consist of sexual battery on a victim 12 to 17 years of age, lewd or lascivious molestation against a victim 12 years of age or older but less than 16 years of age, soliciting a child to engage in a sexual act, and obscene communication with a minor through a computer.
