String of vehicle burglaries in Riverview area

            Several vehicle burglaries have been reported in the Riverview area of Wauchula, Florida, including the personal vehicle of a Hardee County Sheriff’s Deputy.

            On March 21, 2019, deputies responded to numerous reported burglaries in the Riverview community. Victims stated their vehicles were burglarized during the hours of 11 p.m. on March 20 to 5 a.m. on March 21. A sheriff’s deputy who lives in the community said he received a message from a neighbor who said her truck was broken into and wanted to ensure nothing was taken from his vehicle.

            Inspecting his personal vehicle, the deputy discovered several firearms to be missing. Other victims in the area stated cash money was taken from their automobiles.
