“FUGITIVES BEWARE”

THERE IS A NEW K-9 SHERIFF IN TOWN…

D/S Ryan Waters has been lost without his partner “Bullet” for a few months now since his K-9 partner lost his life in December of 2005.

But he is back and better than ever…. Fugitives beware because this new addition to the already excellent K-9 team at the Sheriffs Office is ready and has just proven himself ROAD WORTHY.

K-9 “Ticus” is the newest member of the team. Ticus began his career with the Hardee County Sheriffs Office in February of 2006 and has hit the ground like Hurricane Charlie.

This bloodhound is just 6 months old but his first real life K-9 track other than training was too easy.

Both handler and K-9 did an excellent job in tracking and apprehending a fugitive of justice on 07/21/2006 when a fleeing subject left officers with a perfect opportunity to test the new K-9 when he ran 1 mile deep into an orange grove and swamp area.

According to a Polk County helicopter team who followed the track with their night vision equipment, Ticus and D/S Waters never missed a turn and tracked right to the subject who decided running was NOT an option.

Congratulations to D/S Waters on his first apprehension with Ticus and Welcome aboard to Ticus.

Job Well Done
