  The Hardee County SWAT Team was formed in 1994. The original team consisted of 12 members.

  Major Randy Dey is currently the Law Enforcement Commander.  Lt. Rosie Wendell is Commander of  the SWAT Team with Sgt. Lyle Hart as Assistant Commander.

  To date, the SWAT Team has executed over 100 successful search warrants, mostly narcotics warrants.  The team trains on a monthly basis and re-qualifies all members every quarter.
