Mobile Crime Scene Unit

     

  The crime scene technician is responsible for the documentation of major crime scenes, including homicides, sexual assaults, armed robberies and suspicious deaths.  Using video and still photography equipment, technicians record details of a scene for future investigations and presentation of evidence in a court of law.  The technicians also supervise the collection of evidence, latent finger print processing and other evidentiary duties relating to major crime scenes.

  Available to respond 24/7, the unit is outfitted with high-tech investigative equipment such as digital and 35mm cameras as well as alternate light sources that are used in locating latent prints and /or other crucial evidence.  The crime scene unit is equipped with on-board generators, cellular phones, and two-way communications allowing the unit to be in continuous operation for several days at any location.
