HARDEE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

K-9 UNITS

Fugitives Beware - There is a New K-9 Sheriff in Town

Hardee County Sheriff's Office has four "tracking trained" K-9s assigned to the uniform patrol division, one of which is still a puppy.  They are trained for tracking missing, lost or abducted children and adults. They are also utilized to track down fugitives. The K-9s are on shift patrol and share "on-call" responsibilities.  They all receive training on a regular basis as a part of C.A.R.T. (Child Abduction Response Team).  These are the only K-9s in the county and are often called upon to assist by the other law enforcement agencies in Hardee County.

Hardee County Sheriff's Office has one "narcotics trained" K-9 that is assigned to the investigations division. He is utilized in-conjunction with the patrol division as well as the narcotics task force.

Hardee County Sheriff's Office has a history of effective K-9 application.  K-9's are more than a "tool" for law enforcement, they are a partner to their handler and this partner has only one goal, to "Protect and Serve".
