HARDEE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
The Patrol Division consists of four squads working twelve hour shifts. Each squad is assigned a Sergeant and a K-9 Unit. The Patrol Division is responsible for all unincorporated areas of the county totaling 635 square miles which is divided into four patrol zones to provide efficient coverage with faster response time. Lt. Rosie Wendell is the Patrol Commander in charge of all operations and training as it relates to the Patrol division.
The Hardee County Sheriff's Office is dedicated to mutual aid with the three incorporated cities in the county, and is often called upon by these police departments to assist and provide "back up" for their officers. The sheriff's office also relies on these agencies for the same cooperative actions.
In recent years, technology has played a greater role in effective law enforcement, and the Hardee County Sheriff's Office is no different. Our deputies are equipped with the latest in Mobile Data technology as well as the latest in voice and video capabilities. These advances add to the effectiveness of our patrol division as well as increased deputy visibility and safety.
Sheriff's Deputies are encouraged to meet the public they serve and be accessible. This "old fashion" approach to law enforcement increases the trust between the community and those who serve them.
The Sheriff's Office's "commitment to community", mutual aid and improved communication with the public has had a definite impact on our community and can be credited to a reduction of crime in our county. If you need to contact one of our deputies please click here.
