HARDEE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
Grand Reopening of Winn-Dixie after Hurricane Charlie
devistated the small community.
In August of 2001 the Honor Guard was formed and is under the command of Lt. Rosie Wendell and consists or nine members of the Uniform Patrol Division. The Honor Guard is used for funerals, parades and memorial and dedication services.
The Honor Guard has lead all of the local parades in Hardee County, which include the Christmas parade, Pioneer Park Days and Homecoming parades. The Honor Guard has served the Peace River Electric Company each year by presenting colors at their annual picnic.
They served at three locations during the week of September 11th, 2002 in dedication to the officers and firefighters killed the year prior; Florida's First Assembly of God, First Baptist Church of Bowling Green and at the Memorial service held at the Hardee Civic Center by the Ministerial Association of Hardee County.
Our Honor Guard was the second leading Honor Guard at the Florida Sheriff's Association Law Enforcement Memorial Dedication service held in Tallahassee on September 18, 2002.
Our Honor Guard officers have proven, through their dedication and loyalty to the Honor Guard, that Honor and Professionalism is alive and strong in law enforcement.
The following personnel serve on the Hardee County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard:
Detective David Drake
