How long does it take for Detention Deputies to process someone in who was just arrested and when will they get a chance to make a phone call?

  • Florida State Statutes, the Florida Model Jail Standards and Divisional Procedures require Detention Deputies to obtain a tremendous amount of information from the individual being processed and to conduct certain procedures to include photographing and fingerprinting during the intake process. 
    • Detention Deputies conduct this process as quickly and as efficiently as possible, usually within 1-2 hours after the Arresting Officer arrives to the Detention Facility with the individual.
  • Each individual processed during in take is afforded the opportunity to make a phone call (Local, Collect or Long Distance) to inform a family member, friend or Attorney of his or her current situation and location once the intake process is completed.
     

How can I find out what my family member or friend is charged with and what his or her “Bond” is?

  • With in 1-2 hours after the Arresting Officer arrives to the Facility with the individual, booking, and bond information is available on the Hardee County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility Jail Arrest Log you can also contact the Detention Facility Control Room and obtain the individuals charges and bond information.

How do I find out what happened to the vehicle that was towed or impounded after an arrest?

  • Individuals inquiring as to the location of a vehicle that was towed or impounded during an arrest need to contact the Arresting Agency or the Arresting Officer. 
  • Detention Deputies are not provided with information pertaining to towed or impounded vehicles during an arrest, by the Arresting Officer during intake.
     

As an adult, if I am arrested does my picture and arrest information have to be placed on the Hardee County Sheriff’s Office Web Site or placed in the Newspaper?

  • Yes, all adult arrests will have their individual booking information in accordance with the public information laws placed on the Hardee County Sheriff’s Office Web Site and provided to the Newspaper.
     

How long after a “Bond “has been posted or an inmate is released from custody by “Time Served” or released by the preceding Judge does it take for the individual to be processed out of the Facility by Detention Deputies?

  • Florida State Statutes, the Florida Model Jail Standards and Divisional Procedures require Detention Deputies to ensure a tremendous amount of information is identified, verified or confirmed and to conduct certain procedures prior to releasing an individual from the Detention Facility.
                              -  Detention Deputies conduct this process as quickly and as efficiently as possible usually within 1-2 hours after a “Bond” has been posted or when the preceding Judge has released the individual.
                               - Sentenced inmates with an approved release date by Classification are normally released around 6:00 am on their scheduled release date.
