HOME INVASION / BURGLARY OF BUSINESS

CRIMES:

On February 17, 2009 around 3:00 P.M. a home invasion occurred in Zolfo Springs. The home was occupied by an 85 year old female. Cash and numerous items valued in excess of  $100 were taken. Later that evening at approximately 10:00 P.M. Zolfo Supermarket was burglarized. Perpetrators broke in through the front door and removed items valued in excess of $300 without the owners permission.

ARRESTS:

On February 23, 2009 Javier Mejias Sandoval and Miguel Angel Fernandez from Plant City, Florida were placed under arrest for the burglary and theft of items from Zolfo Supermarket as well as for the home invasion of an occupied residence. Video surveillance captured from Zolfo Supermarket show the defendants entering and exiting through the front door and removing items from the store. Their attempt to break the glass on a coin machine full of quarters was also observed. The clothing they were wearing is consistent with the description of the individuals involved with the home invasion as described by a witness at the scene of the home invasion..
