Inmate Programs:
The Hardee County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility provides inmates with programs that are designed to facilitate an inmate’s personal needs for Self-improvement.

Corporal Douglas supervises, coordinates and oversees Inmate Programs to include:

The Inmate Library Program:
         - The Inmate Library Program provides inmates the ability to check out various types and categories of                                “Soft Back” library books.
         - The Library Books are purchased through the “Inmate Trust Fund: or donated to the Sheriff’s Office                           Detention Facility by private individuals, religious organizations or other entities.

The Adult Education Program:

- The Adult Education Program is operated and staffed by an Education from South Florida Community College.
- The Adult Education program provides those inmates who are eligible, qualify and are approved to attend, the ability to attend Adult Education Classes for self-improvement

The Inmate Trusty Program:

- The Inmate Trusty Program is limited to those inmates who have been sentenced to the Hardee County Detention Facility.
- The Inmate Trusty Program provides those inmates who are eligible, qualify and are approved the ability to learn and perform job related tasks for County entities or non-profit organizations.
- The inmates in accordance with Florida State Statute spend less time in the Detention Facility on their sentence by earning “Gain Time” for learning and performing job related tasks.
